2Ft Plate & Structural Steel (#1 Foundry Steel)

  • No Welded Material
  • Thickness 1/4" minimum to 6" maximum
  • bar stock 3/8" X 6" minimum
  • Strips 1/4" X 1/2" X 6"
  • Less than 1.25" thick for I Beams
  • Less than 24" Diagonally, 18" X 18" is optimal
  • greater than 6" long
  • no closed containers or tubular steel or pipe
  • no Cast Iron, Bearings, Bushings, Gears, Rims
  • no punchings or alloyed steel
  • low Phos Structural and Plate steel only
  • no painted, primed, coated, or plated pieces (i.e. galvanized, chrome, etc)

3Ft Foundry Steel (#2 Foundry Steel)

  • less than 36" Diagonally
  • less than 300Lbs
  • greater than 4" long
  • greater than 1/4" thick
  • all grades of low alloyed or low carbon steel
  • no dirt, grease, rubber, or non-magnetic parts
  • no lead, aluminum, wire/cable, banding, sheet steel
  • no radioactive material, non-metallic materials, or high-alloyed steel
  • no shock absorbers, transmissions, torque converters, crankshafts (ductile Iron), brake shoes, uncut wire/cable
  • Low Phos Structural Steel and Plate
  • length greater than 6" to 20ft maximum
  • thickness 1/4" minimum to less than 2"
  • no punchings, round or square tubing, wire, banding
  • no galvanized, coated, painted, welded
  • no high alloy steel, non-metallics

Heavy Plate

  • Low Phos Structural Steel and Plate
  • Thickness from 2" to 6"
  • I Beams that fold down to over 2"
  • length greater than 6" to 20 ft maximum
  • no galvanized, coated, painted, welded
  • no high alloy steel, non-metallics

Unprepared Steel

  • Thickness 1/4" minimum to less than 2"
  • all grades of low alloyed or low carbon steel
  • maximum length 20ft / width 7ft
  • no shock absorbers, transmissions, torque converters, crankshafts (ductile iron), brake shoes
  • no lead, aluminum, wire/cable, banding, sheet steel

Sheet Iron

  • Misc. post-consumer light gauge 1/8" and under low alloy or carbon steel sheet metal capable of being shredded
  • Restrictions: No sealed tanks, cable, wire, excess dirt, garbage, tires, insulation, wood, concrete or othe non-metallics. See our material policy for a complete listing of unacceptable items.

Motor Cast (#1 Cast)

  • Clean cast iron from autos including block, heads, drums, rotors, calipers, manifolds, etc.
  • Maximum block length 32"
  • less than 200Lbs
  • 2" maximum wall thickness
  • Less than 2' diagonally
  • Free of all non-ferrous

Stove Cast (#2 Cast)

  • Unprepared Stove Plate including cast iron bath tubs, sinks, & municipal castings
  • Less than 10% soil pipe is allowed
  • 1" maximum thickness
